FarmVille has teamed up with AVG to give players a free specialized biplane and three uses of Instant Grow with every purchase of AVG’s PC Tuneup 2011 software! All you need to do is play FarmVille and you may see this informational window pop up at the bottom of the display:
You can click on the Market and see a promotional card for AVG as well. Either way by clicking on it you will be shown this window:
FarmVille players can get a special discount on AVG’s PC Tuneup 2011—the normal $29.99 US retail price
has been slashed to just $9.99! Once you purchase PC Tuneup 2011 through AVG, you’ll receive a special new AVG biplane and three free uses of Instant Grow.
If you want to take advantage of this offer, just click on “Visit AVG Now” and you’ll be taken to a special AVG web page with more information about this product and how to start the purchasing process. You have to go from FarmVille to this page in order to get the special offer. The purchase will take place on AVG’s website and is not controlled by Zynga or Facebook. Once this purchase process is complete, you’ll get a notice that you won the item.
Now you’ll need to refresh FarmVille (by reloading the game) and you’ll see a special pop-up notice saying you’ve gotten the biplane (if you don’t that’s okay, it’ll still be in your Gift Box). You can choose to place it on your farm now or wait until later (simply click on the Multi-Tool to keep it in your Gift Box for now).
Note that you can take advantage of this offer as many times as you want during the promotional period—you’ll receive a new special biplane and three more uses of Instant Grow per transaction (which means multiple purchases at the same time will not work, you will need to go back to FarmVille and go through the normal flow in order to get another biplane). Also note that you don’t have to use the AVG biplane to use the three free uses of Instant Grow; any of the biplanes will work with them just fine.

Perhaps you’ve seen the new FarmVille quest based around the new Greenhouse but you weren’t really sure what to do, how to finish it, or what it offered. Have no fear; we have a complete guide to show you the way!
Remember that you can always check up on your quest progress by simply clicking on the quest icon, which is always located on the left-hand side of the FarmVille window. The first Greenhouse quest icon will look like this:
When you have a new quest arrive, you’ll see the gold arrow pointing to the quest icon displaying “New Goals!” If you make progress in a quest, you’ll see a green arrow pointing to the quest icon showing “Progress!”
Greenhouse Quest #1: Mixing It Up
Clicking on the quest icon will show the first quest, “Mixing It Up”. The quest window will look like this:
Here you’ll the story behind this quest and the quest objectives. Usually each quest has between two and four objectives that need to be met in order to complete it. Many objectives can be skipped by paying Farm Cash (simply click on the “Skip” button located next to the objective you wish to skip by paying Farm Cash and you’ll be asked to confirm your decision). As an objective is completed, a green check mark will appear next to it. You can close the quest window at any time by clicking on “Okay” at the bottom of the window.
Once all of the objectives for that quest are completed a reward consisting of a set of prizes will be awarded to the player. This can include XP, coins, and a special item or two. The objectives for this quest are:
* Complete 1 Greenhouse
* Plant 50 Fire Pepper
* Fertilize plots on neighbor’s farms 25 times
Generally you will have gotten the Greenhouse for free but if you do not have it, you can click on “Get Greenhouse” where you will be prompted to buy it in the Market (for 5 coins). You’ll also need to use building parts to build it to the first functional Greenhouse level, but you can quickly skip this step by spending 11 Farm Cash.
The next objective is to plant 50 Fire Pepper farm plots. Fire Pepper is one of ten special crops that can be created with the Greenhouse, created by combining the Jalapenos and Peppers crop. You can also get random seed packets by visiting neighbor’s farms and clicking on their Greenhouse, or by clicking on Greenhouse seed packet feed posts. You can then plant these seeds like any other type of seed, individually for each farm plot or with a vehicle like a Combine. You can skip this step by paying 10 Farm Cash.
The last objective is to help your neighbors by fertilizing 25 of their own seed plots. Essentially this means you’ll need to visit five neighbors and fertilize 5 of the crops by clicking on them (you can only fertilize 5 seed plots per neighbor). You can also skip this step by paying 5 Farm Cash.
Once all three objectives are complete you’ll see the reward screen:
The rewards for this quest are:
* 100 XP
* 2,500 Coins
* 5 bags of Fertilize All
You may also share these Fertilize Boosts to your feed by clicking on the “Share” button. Otherwise you can click on the red X at the upper right-hand portion of the window to move on.
Greenhouse Quest #2: Gardener Under Glass
You can see that the quest icon has changed to reflect which quest you’re on. Since you’re on the second quest now, a “II” will appear next to the Greenhouse icon.
The objectives for this quest are:
* Harvest 50 Fire Pepper
* Get 6 Grow Lights
* Harvest your Cows and Sheep
The Harvest Fire Pepper objective is quite easily—just harvest the Fire Pepper seeds you planed for Quest #1, you should have enough. If not just lay down a few more plots. You can skip this objective by paying 10 Farm Cash.
You can get Grow Lights by posting a request for help in the feed via clicking the “Ask Friends” button. If a neighbor should give you a Grow Light (or if you get one by giving a free one to a neighbor) , it’ll be deposited in your Gift Box and you will need to “Use” it from there in order to have it count against the quest objective. You can skip this objective by paying 10 Farm Cash.
The third objective requires that you harvest a total of ten cows and sheep. This can be any cow or sheep on the farm. Harvesting a Dairy Barn counts as one harvest, as does the use of a Farmhand. You can skip this objective by paying 5 Farm Cash.
The rewards for this quest are:
* 250 XP
* 5,000 Coins
* A White Tree House (decoration)
You may also share a White Tree House to your feed by clicking on the “Share” button. Otherwise you can click on the red X at the upper right-hand portion of the window to move on.
Greenhouse Quest #3: Keep Growing
Now that you’re on the third quest a “III” will appear next to the quest icon. This is the last one!
The objectives for this quest are:
* Harvest 100 Lilac Daffy
* Get 6 Sprinklers
The first objective is to first plant, and then harvest, 100 Lilac when they are ready to be harvested. You can find Lilac in the Market by clicking on “Seeds & Trees” and then “Flowers”. Lilacs are ready to harvest after ten hours. You can skip this objective by paying 15 Farm Cash.
The second (and last) objective requires that you get six Sprinklers. This is a lot like the “Grow Light” objective from Quest #2 click on “Ask Friends” to post a feed to your wall asking for help. You can skip this objective by paying 15 Farm Cash.
The rewards for this quest are:
* 500 XP
* 7,500 Coins
* A Persian Cat
You may also share a Persian Cat to your feed by clicking on the “Share” button. Otherwise you can click on the red X at the upper right-hand portion of the window to move on.
And now you’re done with the Greenhouse quests. Congratulations!

St. Patrick’s Day will soon be here and the second stage of our celebration (following the Wishing Well) is now here with Leprechaun’s Cottage! This storable multi-level constructible tree house can be harvested every twenty-four hours for golden prizes (which you will be able to redeem for gifts soon).
Building the Cottage
You will get the initial tree for Leprechaun’s Cottage for free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Leprechaun’s Cottage tree on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later (by switching to the Multi-Tool for instance). You must be at least Level 5 to place a Leprechaun’s Cottage.
The Leprechaun’s Cottage is a multi-level constructible building where each level requires more building parts to complete it:
* Level 1 – 12 parts total: 4 Wooden Boards, 4 Nails and 4 Bricks
* Level 2 – 48 parts total: 16 Wooden Boards, 16 Nails and 16 Bricks
* Level 3 – 90 parts total: 30 Wooden Boards, 30 Nails and 30 Bricks
Like many constructible building parts, you can acquire these items by:
* Asking your neighbors for these parts by posting a help request to your feed (click on the “Ask For More” button for each type of part).
* Give parts to your neighbors via the Free Gifts page or the “Send Gifts” button.
* Acquire individual parts by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Buy” button for that particular part). Each part is 1 Farm Cash.
* Acquire all needed parts for the building by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase parts for the rest of the building). The Cost is X Farm Cash, where X is the amount of parts left needed to finish the building.
* Potentially through the use of Special Delivery Boxes.
* Using individual parts already available in your Gift Box.
As you complete each level of Leprechaun’s Cottage, it becomes bigger and grander visually:
If you do not get Leprechaun’s Cottage initially or wind up deleting (or otherwise losing) it, you can purchase it in the Market (under Buildings). Note that you will be able to buy a fully constructed Leprechaun’s Cottage for Farm Cash in the Market at a discount (compared to if you were to buy each part individually for Farm Cash), and you can purchase multiple cottages for Farm Cash only.
Currently you can harvest the Leprechaun’s Cottage for golden prizes that you will be able to redeem for exclusive gifts. As the size of the cottage increases, so does the amount of items you can get per harvest. You’ll be able to redeem those items soon so stay tuned!

In addition we’ll be giving free some Zynga goodies to the top three Meetup groups!
The turnout for these player meetup events has been tremendous and far beyond all expectations. “We are certainly a group of DEDICATED AND AVID FANS,” said Johnny B Farmer, an organizer for the Phoenix Meetup group. “I've done a lot of groups, clubs, meetups, and business over the years, and NEVER have I had such an energetic (or large) turnout for just Planning - ever! I have no doubt that, at least in Phoenix, this meetup group will soar. Certainly, hundreds, probably thousands by late in the year.”
Remember that anyone can plan a Meetup; just pick a place and invite your Facebook friends! Any local place will do… it can be a coffee shop, bookstore, restaurant, or any small venue where everyone can meet each other.
