The Royal couple is visiting FarmVille, so now’s the time to get your party set up before their arrival! The more people that show up to the party, the cooler the prizes you get to unlock!
The Royal Welcome Party works a lot like the New Years Party Barn. You’ll get the Welcome Tent the first time you play FarmVille after the update, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Welcome Tent on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later (by switching to the Multi-Tool for instance).
Once the Welcome Tent is on the farm you can click on it, then select “Go to Party!” to see this window:
You can see the red carpet floor inside the tent where the Avatars of your guests will show up, and the list of prizes on the right. As you gather guests, each of the prizes will unlock and either show up in your Gift Box or become available in the Market (Note: the gift may not show up in the Gift Box until you refresh the game).
To invite guests, simply click on the green “Invite Friends” button at the bottom of the Royal Welcome Party window. You’ll see the standard list of friends you can send invites to. As they accept, you can see their avatars appear inside the tent. You may need to refresh if a whole bunch of friends show up during your gameplay session.
You also have the option of foregoing inviting some if not all of your friends to pick up the special prizes by paying Farm Cash. Simply click on the “Unlock” button next to the prize to unlock that prize (and all the prizes underneath that prize). You’ll be asked to confirm if you want to spend that amount of Farm Cash.
And that’s all there is to it! The Royal couple will show up on May 12, and after that date you won’t be able to invite any more guests or unlock prizes (the Wedding Tent will also be storable at that time).

New quests are now available in the English Countryside! First you get to help out with the Village Faire, and then help the Duke’s son learn about all about farming so you can unlock the Lush Soil bonuses for your Home Farm!
Quest: A Delightful Bouquet
Chapter 6 starts off with the coming of the Village Faire, where you can help out Agatha by getting some of the best decorations.
The quest objectives are:
* Complete the Cornflower Contingency Job: This is a Co-Op that requires you to seed and harvest 1,200 Cornflower plots. Enlist your friends to help you out, or you can elect to spend Farm Cash to skip this step.
* Harvest 100 English Roses
* Harvest 100 Foxglove
The quest rewards are:
* 100 XP
* 4 Hedgerows
* 2,500 Coins
Quest: Let Us Entertain Ewe
Most people that participate in the Village Faire really need to show off their skills, and in this case it means you need to show how good you are with sheep breeding.
The quest objectives are:
* Place 3 lambs on your farm: breed or adopt from your feed 3 lambs and put them on your farm.
The quest rewards are:
* 100 XP
* 1 Town Fountain
* 2,500 Coins
Quest: On the House
A lot of drinking goes on at the Village Faire and the last thing you want to have happen is let people go thirsty.
The quest objectives are:
* Make 3 Barley Crumpets: You’ll need to make the Barley Crumpets using your Pub (you’ll need to complete the crafting process in order for it to count).
* Make 3 Lionhead Energy Drinks: You’ll also need to make 3 Lionhead Energy Drinks with the Pub.
* Get 6 Lemons: Click the “Ask Friends” button to make a request on your feed for Lemons.
The quest rewards are:
* 100 XP
* 1 Lemonade Stand
* 2,500 Coins
Quest: A Faire to Remember
The Village Faire is here, and the last thing you need to do is make sure that all the hungry participants get fed.
The quest objectives are:
* Plant and harvest 200 Cara Potatoes
* Fertilize plots on neighbor’s farms 25 times: Visit your neighbors and fertilize their crops (note that you can fertilize 5 crops per neighbor in a 24-hour period).
The quest rewards are:
* 100 XP
* Riding Outfit
* 2,500 Coins
That’s the conclusion of Chapter 6!
Quest: Back to Basics
Now that you’re finished with the Village Faire you’ve been approached by Henry, the Duke’s son. He’s in love with Lucy but he’s fairly clueless about farming and needs your help to show how he can be a good farmer.
The quest objectives are:
* Plow 200 plots: You just need to plow 200 plots to complete this one.
* Harvest 200 English Peas: And use those plots to plant and later harvest 200 English Peas.
The quest rewards are:
* 200 XP
* 5 Fences
* 2,500 Coins
Quest: Building Blocks
Henry seems to have the whole plowing, planting and harvesting thing down pat. Now he needs to learn about farm buildings and what farm animals are for.
The quest objectives are:
* Harvest the Chicken Coop twice: all you need to do is harvest your Chicken Coop twice. Remember the Chicken Coop is harvestable once every 24 hours.
* Harvest the Horse Stable twice: same thing here.
* Craft Duke’s Stout to Level 15: craft Duke’s Stout in the Pub until you get to Crafting Level 15.
The quest rewards are:
* 200 XP
* 5 Fences
* 2,500 Coins
Quest: A Growing Concern
Now Henry needs to know some of the tricks of the trade.
The quest objectives are:
* Achieve Field Beans Mastery Level 1: You need to plow, plant and harvest enough Field Beans to reach the first level of Mastery.
* Complete the Amazing Aster job: This is a Co-Op that requires you to seed and harvest 1,200 Pink Aster plots. Enlist your friends to help you out, or you can elect to spend Farm Cash to skip this step.
* Use a Combine 50 times: Use your combine 50 times initially; this should be easy to do in conjunction with planting the Field Beans.
The quest rewards are:
* 250 XP
* 4 Flower Pots
* 5,000 Coins
Quest: Being Neighbourly
Finally, Henry needs to know how to be a good neighbor to his fellow farmers.
The quest objectives are:
* Fertilize plots on neighbor’s farms 40 times: Visit your neighbors and fertilize their crops (note that you can fertilize 5 crops per neighbor in a 24-hour period).
* Get 10 Testimonials: Click the “Ask Friends” button to make a request on your feed for Testimonials.
* Expand to English Freehold: Grow your farm to 18x18 size. You may need some extra Surveyors to help you out!
The quest rewards are:
* Unlock Lush Soil for the Home Farm (previously only available on the English Countryside farm).
* 500 XP
* 1 Heather Knoll

Note: We are rolling out this feature to players so not everyone will have it yet. Please be patient and you'll hae it soon!
With tonight's update we've also altered the total amount of bushels you can have stored on your farm. Previously the limit was 100; currently the base limit is 100, and you get to store an additional 25 bushels for every Market Stall after the first for a maximum of 200. Here's an easy way of looking at it the new bushel capacity cap:
* 1 Market Stall - 100 Bushels
* 2 Market Stalls - 125 Bushels
* 3 Market Stalls - 150 Bushels
* 4 Market Stalls - 175 Bushels
* 5 Market Stalls - 200 Bushels
Happy farming!

Notice: We are rolling out this feature currently. Please be patient and you'll have it soon!
Attention pig owners, pig breeding is now available! You can start making new piglets immediately if you have a Pig Pen on either your Home Farm or your English Countryside farm. If you don’t have a Pig Pen at all, don’t worry—we’ll give you another one for free via a pop-up window:
If you have one already built, fantastic! You’ll get a free boar as a prize. Note you will only get the free boar if your active farm has a Pig Pen constructed on it; if you're on an active farm without a built Pig Pen, you won't get the Boar until you construct the Pig Pen you get with the pop-up.
Important Note: If you get a prompt to place a Pig Pen, note that you cannot put it on a farm that already has one. If you do, you will go Out of Sync. It must be placed on your other farm (the one without the Pig Pen).
We’ve also streamlined the way truffle hunting works, and we’ve revised the rewards you get for redeeming truffles! Read on for all the details.
Let’s make some piglets!
Breeding new pigs is a lot like breeding new sheep. Click on your completed Pig Pen, and then choose “Look Inside” to see the new Pig Pen interface:
If your Pig Pen is empty, you’ll need to move some pigs (not to mention a boar) into it in order to start breeding. In the example above, we have three different kinds of pigs in the Pig Pen: a Purple Boar, a Pot Belly Pig and a Tamworth Pig.
Some changes have been made: Pig Slop is no longer a Pig Pen feature, and there are now a row of stalls at the upper left (also similar to the Sheep Pen, you get one stall for each constructed level of the Pig Pen).
You’ll need a boar and a pig (or sow) to start breeding, the result of which is a piglet, which once fully grown will take on some of the characteristics of the parents, such as colors and perhaps the patterns. More than likely there will be some variation in the colors, depending on the colors of the parents. The pattern can only be inherited from the boar, but if both parents have the same pattern, the chance of pattern inheritance is much higher.
Now let's start breeding. Click on the boar you want to breed with—in the case of this example, the Purple Boar. You’ll see options to Breed with it, or Remove it from the Pig Pen (or click on the X to close the pop-up):
After clicking on Breed, the pigs/sows you can breed with the boar will remain in full color while the available boards will grey out. Click on the pig/sow you want to breed with and you’ll see some similar options. Here I’m choosing the Tamworth Pig:
Select Breed again and you’ll see the Breeding window:
Breeding a new pig is a 24 hour process and carries (by default) a 50% success rate, meaning if you’re not successful you have to start all over again. You can improve your chance of success (while decreasing the amount of time it takes to breed) by using Love Potions. You can acquire Love Potions by:
* Buying them via the Buy Potions button in the Pig Pen window (5 Love Potions at a time)
* Asking your neighbors for Love Potions via the Ask for Potions button in the Pig Pen window.
Here’s the impact of using Love Potions:
* No Love Potions used: 50% success rate, breed time: 24 hours
* 1 Love Potion used: 60% success rate, breed time: 12 hours
* 2 Love Potions used: 70% success rate, breed time: 6 hours
* 3 Love Potions used: 80% success rate, breed time: 3 hours
* 4 Love Potions used: 90% success rate, breed time: 1 hour
* 5 Love Potions used: 100% success rate, breed time: instant
You can use the up and down arrows to choose how many Love Potions you want to spend. If you don’t have enough, you’ll be prompted to buy more. When you’re satisfied with your chances, click on Breed (or Cancel if you don’t want to try breeding at this time). You may have to wait a few seconds…
The stall at the upper left is occupied and their places in the Pig Pen pasture are replaced with helpful signs. If there’s a timer, a clock in the stall will show how much time is left to go. Once the boar and pig are done doing their thing (or you used instant breeding), the Ready! button will show up over the stall. Click on it.
With any luck, you’ve bred a new piglet! You can choose to name your piglet (choose anything within the Terms of Service), choose to Give it Away (this will make a post to your feed) or you can keep it.
At this moment, you still don’t know how the piglet will turn out—you’ll need to grow it up. Once you click on “Keep Piglet” you’ll get the option to place it on your farm.
Click anywhere on your farm to place it. You can click on the piglet at any time to get a menu of options:
A piglet can be fully grown using 10 Baby Bottles. You can acquire or give Baby Bottles by:
* Asking your neighbors directly by clicking on “Ask for Bottles”
* Purchasing Bottles in the Market for 1 Farm Cash each
* Acquire all the needed Bottles by spending Farm Cash (click on the “Complete Now” button to purchase the remaining Bottles). The Cost is X Farm Cash, where X is the number of Bottles needed to grow the Piglet.
* Gifting the bottles via the Free Gifts page.
Also note you can change the name of the piglet at any time by choosing Change Name (even after the piglet is fully grown). Selecting Feed Bottles will give as many bottles as you have in your inventory (up to the maximum needed of 10) to your piglet. Once you’ve applied 10 Bottles the piglet will now grow up into a full boar or pig.
You’ll also get this pop-up asking you to celebrate by sharing some baby bottles with your neighbors via a feed post:
Currently boars only come in two different patterns: plain (which is really not a pattern at all, or if you want to get really technical it’s a pattern of the exact same color as the boar) and spotted. As noted above, the colors available for pig breeding is a somewhat random process, based on the colors and patterns of the parents used. Each color a parent possesses has a certain color range to it that can be applied to the piglet in question, so you never really know what you’re getting exactly.
Finally, note that there is a limit as to how many bred boars and pigs you can have on each farm at any one time. The limit is 100, which includes all bred pigs on that particular farm, in that farm’s Pig Pen, and in the Gift Box. This is per farm, so you can have up to 100 for each the Home Farm and the English Countryside farm.
And that’s pig breeding!
Truffle hunting and other Pig Pen changes
As we noted above, Pig Slop has been removed from the Pig Pen (and in fact from the game altogether). If you still have some in your Gift Box or elsewhere, go ahead and get rid of it.
Truffle hunting has been streamlined tremendously. When you click to harvest your Pig Pen, you’ll start your only truffle hunt of the day. The pig chosen to hunt with is completely random, as is the neighbor’s farm you can find the truffle on:
If you find a truffle (there is a chance you won’t), you’ll see this pop up with the note to share the truffle with that neighbor. Clicking Share will ask you to make a post to their wall, informing them that you found a truffle on their farm. They can then respond by returning the same type of truffle to you by posting on your wall.
Again, this will be the only truffle hunt of the day; once your Pig Pen is ready to be harvested again (once every 24 hours), you can try for another truffle hunt.
The prizes for redeeming a truffle (you can find them in your Gift Box) have been heavily revised. You can get building parts, bottles, love potions, and all sorts of other treats (including other animals) by redeeming truffles now.
Finally, Pig Pens now visually show which pigs you have in it, similar to Sheep Pens. The pigs you put in last show up in each of the 3 stalls as well as the mud yard in front of the pen.

Update: And the fix is now live!
Here's some information concerning players unable to play FarmVille, which are essentially lockouts for all intents and purposes:
#1 lockout first started around Wednesday night following an update, and more than likely involves an attempt to breed one of two sheep (the red-and-blue polka dot sheep and the Birthday sheep appear to be culprits at this point). It has nothing to do with "illegal" sheep or anything like that (as far as we can tell).
While we were attempting to identify this issue, lockout #2 occurred on early Thursday morning. This was something that went way beyond our control, and was wide-reaching enough that while the initial lockout was resolved by late Thursday afternoon, the effects of the root cause are still impacting Zynga at this very moment. Those who got locked out because of #2 should be able to get back in (though obviously because the lockouts look the same to you, you have no idea if you got hit by #1, #2 or both).
We have #1 fixed (we believe), but because the echoes of #2 are still impacting us, we haven't been able to publish it and fix everyone that's affected. We hope to do so in a short while but things can change (unfortunately, as you may have already seen).
Meanwhile wither and puppy hunger will remain off until this is all resolved. We are very much committed to getting everyone back into FarmVille as soon as possible, and we appreciate everyone's patience in this matter. Thanks everyone, and we hope to get you back to your farms soon!

The Gift Box has been revised to make it much more friendly experience! Items in the Gift Box can now be sorted into categories and the interface is faster than ever before. Plus we’ve added the ability to sell multiple items at once as well as search functionality!
Just click on it to see how it looks now:
The base functionality remains the same, but you can click on the different Filters to sort everything by that item type: All, Consumables, Decorations, Buildings and Animals. Here we have a sample filter by Consumables:
To easily look through the contents of the Gift Box, just click on the arrow on the right or left (should they appear), which will flip through the pages of your inventory (it’s much faster than it was before).
The new Gift Box also has Search functionality, which you can see at the upper right-hand portion of the Gift Box window. Click on the white box then type it what you want to search for. For this example I’ve put in “chicken” and this is what was in my Gift Box:
You can click on the “X” in the search box to clear the search field, which will go back to show the default Gift Box filter (which is “All”).
Finally, if you need to clear out some stuff from your Gift Box, we’ve eliminated the need to keep clicking Sell if you have a ton of one item. Now if you have more than one of the same item and click Sell, you’ll see a new box pop up:
Now you can use the up and down arrows to determine how many of these items you want to sell all at once (you can also enter in a number by clicking on the “1” and putting in whatever number you want to sell). Click on Sell and you’ll be asked to confirm the sale, or click on Cancel to cancel the sale.

Search functionality has been added to the Market and the Gift Box! Now if you need to find something in the Market or the Gift Box, you can just type it in and FarmVille will find it quickly!
As you can see, the Search box is now available in the upper right-hand portion of the Market window:
It’ll always show up there no matter what part of the Market you are currently in. Now just click on the white box, and you’ll see your cursor show up on the left side of the box. Type in something to search for, like “sheep” (you don’t have to press Enter):
As you start putting in letters FarmVille automatically sorts through and finds what you have selected, so you can see the choices narrow as you enter in more letters. When I finished typing “sheep” I came up four items:
So you can see searching in the Market is very simple. This functionality has also been added to the Gift Box, and it works very much the same way. Enjoy!

We’re excited to announce a new way to add common parts to buildings and apply them to objects/animals like seedlings and lambs. Now you can add these items from your gift box simply by clicking on what accepts them!
Clicking through individual parts in your Gift Box is now a thing of the past!
Using the New Part Adding Method
Open your Gift Box and select a part to use:
Your mouse cursor will now change to show the part you’ve selected, along with the amount you have in your Gift Box to use. Any building/animal/item that can accept the part will be highlighted blue, while those that cannot will remain unmarked as seen below:
Clicking on an object to accept a part changes the number of parts available on your mouse cursor to keep track of what you use easily:
To cancel the adding cursor, simply click on the Multi-Tool icon in the game tool bar:
You can currently use the following items using this method from your Gift Box:
* Beeswax
* Smoker
* Blanket
* Bottle
* Harness
* Horseshoe
* Brick
* Wooden Board
* Nail
* Shovels
* Watering Cans
